Experienced executive required to be responsible for the promotion strategy and marketing effectiveness of the various brands and products of this well-established and respected, Leicester based, quality UK design and manufacturing company, specialising in jewellery & accessories for the alternative fashion industry.

The company’s principle market sectors are alternative fashion and lifestyles and the rock/alt/indie music scenes, but also include contemporary general fashion jewellery and quality traditional giftware. Professional experience and contacts within our specialist sectors, as well as some personal empathy with the alternative/rock lifestyle are essential.

Responsibilities include:

Facebook, Twitter and blog writing and relentless campaign management; general social networking strategy planning, implementation and website integration.
Effective industry promotion of the company and its diverse brands, domestically and internationally.
Campaign-planning and providing material to and liaising with contracted, outside PR agencies.
Inventive publicity and promotional initiatives.

Enamoured by the grace of bats in flight, the Victorian engineers of the Steampunk revolution took to studying the pull and strain of musculature that enabled such a miracle, and applied it to their machines – the better that humanity might be able to do the same, and soar through the smog of industry towards the stars and beyond.

Based on the early plans of these innovative pioneers, Alchemy has devised the Daedalus Penna Scienta pendant; not only to hail their ambition and ingenuity, but also to celebrate the intricate workings of such a fascinating miracle of nature.

Hailed as one of the first vampires in English literature, Lord Ruthven was truly a dark depiction of the beautiful, terrifying, seductive creatures of the night as we know them in the present. Through the good-hearted Aubrey, he carved a treacherous, debauched path through London society; seducing and killing women until his own death – swearing Aubrey not to speak of him for a year and a day thereafter.

But of course, the vampyre does not stay silent for long. Setting his amorous intentions on Aubrey’s sister, seeking only to corrupt the good and pure, Lord Ruthven sent the man into a crazed breakdown in which all of Ruthven’s secrets were spilled… and he died under mysterious circumstances not long after.

The Ruthven Cross is a memorial, then – to those who lost their lives to Lord Ruthven’s lust, but also a testament to immortality, and darkness conquering all.

Poison festers at the heart of this piece, hidden away in a locket type casket. Detailed with skulls and crimson crystals, the victim is given due warning of the wearer’s malicious intent. The lid holds closed with a magnet catch, making it the perfect place for a deadly stash.

There is no force quite so potent as a woman with infamy and corruption infused indelibly into her blood. Born in 1480 to the wickedly debased Renaissance Pope Alexander VI and his mistress, Vanozza de Catanei, perhaps it was no surprise that Lucrezia Borgia would go on to become the very definition of a duplicitous, seductive and ultimately lethal femme fatale. Irresistible to men and deft with her womanly wiles to bring about their downfall, Lucrezia stopped at nothing to exact her father’s will; executing political bribes throughout Rome and the Vatican City by any means, as well as more extreme solutions.

Any prince or official identified by her father as threatening the family’s status was dispatched with discreet efficiency, using her favourite and most infamous practice; the agonising death induced by subtle poisons. It was rumoured that during her father’s frequent and lavish parties, hosted by herself, Lucrezia would conceal her deadly toxins inside this elaborate locket, to cunningly secrete into her hapless victim’s cup.

At once a piece of sumptuous design and a token of dark affection, many tales surround the Dark Engagement as a symbol of undying love that can never be. Whispers and rumours tell of a wealthy young man and a woman born of working class, so deeply in love that they had eyes only for each other; wishing only to marry and make their union complete despite fierce disapproval from all sides and an era in which class divides made such a longing impossible.

Presenting her with this offering of betrothal, the young man promised to run away and elope with her on the condition that she wear the ring always, for the dark blue crystal within would only keep its rich colouring when worn by one completely in love. And run away they did, in the dead of night while prying eyes were sound asleep – though none know how their story ends.

Decades after the ring was recovered, no trace has ever been found of the illicit couple, as though they have fallen out of time and recollection altogether…

Continuing on the runaway success of our Steampunk collection, cogs have been turning and engines burning to create the delicate elegance of the Clockwork Darter (P588); eyes turned to mythology to craft the Steamhammer (P592) a Mjollnir for the ‘modern’ age!

Counterpointing the haze and ingenuity of the industrial are our more sumptuous conceptions of Gothic beauty the Venetian Mask of Death (P591) that evokes dark imaginings of the city of romance in pewter and Swarovski crystal; the voluptuous form of St. Cyr’s Delight (P587) and a teasing glimpse of her famed burlesque performances, set against passionate red ribbon.
